Free Credit Report - Not

You are eligible to receive a free credit report per law. Today I decided to check credit report via TansUnion. I discovered you have to give them credit card info and that you are automatically enrolled in one of there offerings - that after 30 days will charge your card. You have to CALL customer service to cancel your membership. Be sure to read the Terms and Conditions on their site or it won't be free!

Go to AnnualCreditReport.com to order a free credit report. No strigs attached. Find out more on Clark Howards site.

Thanks, that worked. I made the mistake of going directly to their TransUnion's site and attempted to obtain the report there. In the process, I initiated the enrollment process, entering my email, name, etc. and only when I got to the sign up part did I stop the process. That was enough, though, for them to consider me enrolled and to send me emails and also block a free report by saying I was enrolled. Experian worked ok though.
